A Very Pretty French Painted Giltwood & Gesso Fireplace Surround c.1880Origin: French Period: 3rd Republic Provenance: Unknown Date: c. 1880 Height: 35. 5 Width: 34 Depth: 10. 5 (all at extremities) The elegant painted giltwood and gesso fireplace surround, doubling as a console table, having an attractively shaped top above a foliage decorated freize to a lower diaper decorated section with central cartouche, the slender shaped legs with reeded and further floral decorations, the whole surviving from the fourth quarter

he decided to start showing him to the public

surviving from mid nineteenth century America
